Why are alcoholism and teen pregnancy such big problems for Native Americans on reservations?

Well I once read that on some of the Native American reservations the living conditions are so deplorable. Some reservations are better off than others, some have no running water and electricity. I also read that gambling is also a huge problem on many of these reservations also.
