Sims for the ps2 [playstaion 2]?

ok i have the sims for the ps2 not any thing special just sims.i need cheats codes for it because whenever i try to fine them it comes up with ones not for the ps2 and say i need a cheat gnome.i need help because i dont no what a cheat gnome is and i dont no how to get one.then i just need cheats.thank you.
