Questions about gum loss and gingivitis.?

I'm using a good FDA approved rinse that treats and then prevents gingivitis from returning. My question is will I regain -regrow the lost gum tissue? Or is it simply gone for good? The active ingredient in the rinse which is prescription strenght is CPC (cetylpyridinium chloride).
