Orange County, California -- Is it like on TV?

Like most things, the TV view of Orange County is highly exaggerated. In lot of ways it's just like any other city. However, there are an greater-than-usual number of shopping, dining, and plastic surgery options. It's a fun place to be young and single. Be aware that the posh, socialite scene is very insular - if you're thinking of breaking into it, you'll find it difficult. You'd better have the right job and drive the right car. If you're looking more for the surfing set, you'll probably have better luck.
