Can my primary medical doctor prescribe seizure medication to me?

Your PCP can prescribe them for you but he/she may prefer you see a neurologist. Also there are much better anti-seizure drugs out now that are safer and have fewer side effects than Dilantin; I personally do not prescribe Dilantin routinely to younger patients, especially women because of long-term side effects ociated with this medicine. A neurologist would be better suited to discuss your options with you.
